The Mobile Resource Suite (MRS) is a mobile solution for foresters who need a secure and consistent approach to forest inventory and GIS data collection. MRS works with new field-based handheld technologies including the Trimble Nomad, Recon, Juno, and Ranger, to provide an interface for collecting individual tree data that is both efficient and effective.
Setup of multiple and complex jobs using different sampling techniques and involving a variety of forest types, are simple with MRS. In addition to assisting in navigation to sample point locations, the MRS gives foresters the ability to collect plot data and spatial data for GIS updates. Project quality assurance is guaranteed through initial parameter and cruise setup, and minimal training is required to become operational.
Once data is collected, MRS interfaces seamlessly with Forest Pro Compiler to summarize, query, and report inventory data. After the data is complied, the stand inventory can be directly imported into the Forester’s Desktop.
