The Property Records System (PRS) is a custom built GIS application for creating and managing parcel ownership data and documents. Since parcel spatial data is not always available, the PRS gives users the option to manage tabular data with, or without, a spatial reference. This flexibility allows users to manage their existing data in the system, while continuing to improve the data moving forward.
With PRS, users can manage the following detailed parcel data:
Data created in the PRS represent Ownership Parcels, Encumbrances Parcels, and Land Rights Parcels. Each parcel is assigned to a Transaction and Conveyance so all aspects of the ownership can be tracked and managed. The Property Records System employs a file based document indexing configuration that allows users to link electronic documents such as deeds or contracts, to a record in the application.
The most important aspect of the PRS is the business intelligence that is built into the system. Users create data via wizard driven input screens to ensure data integrity. Additionally, the PRS contains a robust set of GIS tools that include: spatial editing, map creation, COGO input, data querying and use of imagery.
The Property Records System combines the power of business intelligence and GIS in a user friendly application, to help manage complexities of land ownership.
